The Training & Placement Department of Ramgarhia Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET), Phagwara, organised an interactive workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in association with techcadd, on the third day of RIET’s student Induction Program.

The highlight was a live demonstration of techcadd’s AI-powered robotic dog, “Chichi”. The techcadd team explained the engineering mechanics and machine-learning algorithms behind the model, and Chichi’s guided tour across the RIET campus let students interact with it, click photographs and discuss robotics careers and the future of automation.

Bridging syllabus and real-world deployment

RIET Principal Dr. Naveen Dhillon, Training & Placement Officer Er. Bharti Nahar and Applied Science HOD Mr. Jaspreet Singh commended the techcadd team for helping bridge the gap between theoretical syllabus and real-world deployment. Dr. Dhillon emphasised the value of practical demonstrations in sparking technical curiosity and inspiring the next generation of engineers.

Employment-oriented learning pathways

  • Python Full StackProgramming fundamentals, web frameworks, databases and testing.
  • MERN StackMongoDB, Express, React and Node.js working together.
  • Data AnalyticsSpreadsheets, statistics, visualisation and clear findings.
  • Exams and placementsStrategy for technical placements and public sector examinations.

How new engineering students can begin

  • Build foundations in mathematics, programming logic, electronics and physics.
  • Explore AI, robotics and software through clubs, workshops and beginner projects.
  • Start with simulations before physical hardware, under supervision.
  • Keep a learning journal of concepts, exercises, errors and improvements.

Responsible AI, safety and ethics

Robotic systems need attention to physical safety; AI systems need privacy, transparency and honest communication of their limitations.

“Practical demonstrations spark technical curiosity and inspire the next generation of engineers.”
